Academic Computing offers training and consulting services to all Sweet Briar College students, faculty, and staff. Here are just a few of the services we provide:
We offer training workshops for faculty, staff and students on a variety of topics including web design, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access. Workshops are offered during the day and in the evening and are free. For a schedule of upcoming courses, click here. To register, just send an e-mail to tmarcais@sbc.edu with your name, the class you would like to attend and the date and time of the class.
Sweet Briar College has Partnered with Atomic Learning to Provide Online Software Training Sweet Briar College has chosen Atomic Learning as an online software training resource for faculty, staff and students. It is our goal to prepare our community of learners and educators with the 21st century skills needed for today’s world. Atomic Learning provides training on over 110 of the most commonly used software applications, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, iLife, Moodle and many more. Atomic Learning breaks down each application into manageable tasks and explains each task through a one- to three-minute tutorial. You can view a tutorial when you have a quick question about a program you’re using, or you can view a series of tutorials and master an entire application. With a subscription to Atomic Learning, our school has the following benefits available to them 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

If you have specific training needs or requests, please contact the Academic Technology Trainer, Tom Marcais. It is possible to organize training sessions for departments, student groups and classes. One-on-one consulting for special projects is also available.
